I keep going back. Still awesome. This place also has something that in short supply these days..the servers are nice. They smile. They talk to you. The owner came by to say hello. Why don't other places make a habit of this? Love this spot!

I stopped in the Forbes Tavern this past Saturday evening to grab a quick dinner before heading to the Saturday Night Market. This was my first time in the place since the days when it was CourtHouse Tavern. Upon entry there were 3 people outside, two tables with guests and a few guests at the bar, so not busy at all. I waited several minutes before anyone noticed me standing at the hostess station to seat me. The process to take my order, bring my soda and food all were within acceptable times and even the first "how is everything" check in. However the check in was by who I believe was the owner or manager, not my server. My server spent the entire time chatting behind the bar with the other bar tender, the owner/manager and a few guests. At one point I saw a few staff members also have a drink (which is a big no-no in my opinion).
I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my soda which I desperately did want a refill half way through my meal. When I dine alone I always have my kindle and I read while eating but I was just plainly being ignored for "other conversations with co-workers". When my server stopped to drop my bill I finish my chapter before pulling my card out, it sat another few minutes till she came to collect and finalize my bill. Which I must say even though the service was much less than stellar I round my tip up to a little above 25%.
As for the food, I ordered the Space Jam Burger and fries. The burger and fries were good, Burgers and fries are pretty hard to make fabulous or horrible. Kudos to the kitchen staff for cooking it properly and all the food was warm when it came out.
As for the atmosphere, definitely loud bar atmosphere with high ceilings, music was loud and definitely people at the bar were talking loudly. The other table of guest were also there to enjoy a meal and not just to drink. The place was clean, the restroom was also clean and stocked and the former ownership "sticky all over" feeling was gone.
I gave 2 stars to the kitchen staff for their ability to cook a burger properly and 1 Star for the clean atmosphere. 0 stars were given for service and owner/manager for ignoring me and for drinking on the job.
I will not be rushing back anytime soon when I can get the same burger and fries at 5 Guys for about the same price. -

What a great place to gather. Easy, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. the staff was friendly and engaging. Full service bar and great rotating beer menu. All flavors, tastes and price points were covered.
The menu focused on comfort food but it is all well prepared. I enjoyed a early dinner during happy hour and as the server said, "You may not think you are eating a lot but you will be full." -

I liked this restaurant; but it wasn't for me. The nitpicks I have are entirely subjective. I didn't like the seating as I felt to close to other people and the look wasn't captivating. But what I did like was the food. I think you can tell by the pictures Forbes has quality meals.
This place has tons of options for vegan and vegetarians. And is a modern tavern that plays Duran Duran. -

Stopped here for a drink and watch college footall. It was great; it wasn't overly crowded, they had plenty of tvs, and the service was very quick! They have awesome drink specials too during the game. The employees are what makes this place great. They're extremely friendly and make you feel like they're your friend from the moment you walk in. At no point do you feel pressured to order more food or drinks and they let you enjoy the game. The bartender even waited until commercial breaks to ask if we needed anything. It's a hidden gem downtown and I recommend you check it out. The bar even has outlets to charge your phone.
